Chair boots

I bought four of these dining room chairs on Craigslist a few years back for, $70 maybe?

I like the shape of them quite a bit, and they're sturdy and comfortable, but I was ready for a change.  So chair boots it is!  Like this:

Kitchen

I am halfway through my plans for the kitchen (basically I've done the easy stuff!).  I should add that these plans will by no means make this my dream kitchen, but it will certainly be an improvement, with minimal impact on the wallet.  And let's face it, its not like I use the kitchen that much anyway :)

Since it's taking me for-EVER to finish it off, I feel compelled to share my plans.

What I've done so far:
- Painted the ceiling white
- Painted the walls - I had a couple gallons of Heavy Cream (Martha Stewart) left over from painting the master, and figured it would work

Heavy Cream

- Found a rug on Ebay
- Painted the back door black
- Re-caulked the countertops

Things left to do:
- Paint the window black
- Paint all the cabinets - uppers white and the base cabs a grayish navy blue
- Paint chalkboard paint in the flat panel beside the refrigerator

- Buy new black trash can - it will sit in the same spot, and I want it to blend into the chalkboard paint behind it
- Figure something out for curtains?

So there you have it!  I am really dreading painting the cabinets, but I know it will be SO worth it when it's done.  Will keep you posted of course...

Footstool

So I've finally recovered two of these three chairs, and they are sweeeeet.  (It's my goal to get the third done before I get sick of the fabric, HA.)  Check it out:

And no idea on the third.  Maybe I'll just reupholster it and sell it, who knows.  Anyone interested? :)
